Asakusabashi

Asakusabashi Station lies on the Toei Asakusa Subway Line and the Sobu Line of the East Japan Railway Company (JR East) in the neighborhood of Asakusabashi in Taito, Tokyo.

Asakusabashi is best known as Tokyo's wholesale district for retailers of dolls. Shops specializing in traditional Japanese dolls cluster the area. The well known street of Asakusabashi, Edo Dori , is lined with wholesale and retail Japanese doll shops. To the north of Asakusabashi Station is the area called Kuramae, a toy wholesalers' district specializing in shops dealing in toys, games, fireworks and carp streamers. Asakusabashi also has a large concentration of beads stores, which sell beads of all varieties. There are also a large number of wholesale textile shops in the area.
