Ayase

Ayase Station lies on the Chiyoda subway line in Adachi Ward in the northern part of Tokyo. An additional branch line of Chiyoda goes from Ayase to Kita-ayase offering transfers between the two stations. Ayase is also served by Joban Line of the East Japan Railway Company (JR East), which has transfers at the station.

Places of Interest:

Higashi Ayase Park is a metropolitan park that lies between Ayase and Higashi Ayase. It is located just 1 minute walk from Ayase Station, and is shaped like a reversed U from the front of the station. A stream runs along the west side of the park. A variety of plants adorn the Japanese garden that lies within the park. Various sports facilities like baseball and gateball grounds, tennis courts, and an indoor heated swimming pool are located in the north side. Higashi Ayase is one of the more popular parks of Tokyo and is frequented by both tourists and local residents.

Within Higashi Ayase Park is Tokyo Budokan, a sports facility run by Tokyo Lifelong Learning and Culture Foundation. This facility offers martial art and Japanese archery classes as well as physical fitness programs. Tokyo Budokan is well known for its unique building. Designed by the famous architect Kijo Rokkaku, the building is an amalgamation of old warrior Japanese arts and modern architecture.
