Honancho

Honancho Station lies on the Honancho Branch of Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line in the Honan district of Suginami Ward of Tokyo. The station has one island platform.

The Marunouchi Line was originally built in 1945 starting from Ogikubo in the west of Tokyo, moving on to Shinjuku and proceeding to Tokyo Station, from where it takes a U-turn and turns back going to and ending at Ikebukuro. The Honancho Branch of Marunouchi Line was added later in 1962, starting from Nakano-Sakaue and ending at Honancho. Whereas the main Marunouchi Line stations carry the letter M , the Honancho Branch stations have a lowercase m.
