Kojimachi

Kojimachi Station is a subway station in the Kojimachi area of Chiyoda Ward of Tokyo. It is served by the Tokyo Metro Yurakucho Line.

Kojimachi is a residential and commercial neighborhood of Chiyoda Ward in Central Tokyo. It is one of the older areas of the city having its origins even before the arrival of Tokugawa Ieyasu in the late 16 th century. It was then known as Kojimura. In 1878, Kojimura was made a ward of the city of Tokyo. Later when Chiyoda ward was formed, Kojimura ward was merged with it and Kojimachi remained a neighborhood.

Several well known companies have their headquarters in Kojimachi and are within easy reach of Kojimachi Station. Prominent among these are the offices of Sony Music Entertainment and Tokyo Metropolitan Television Broadcasting . The Embassy of Ireland is also located in the area.
