Yoyogi-Uehara
Station is located in Shibuya
Ward on the Tokyo Metro Chiyoda
and Odakyu Odawara Lines. The station
is an interchange station between
the two Lines and is also the terminus
for the Tokyo Metro Chiyoda Line.
Although Yoyogi-Uehara is a terminal
station for the Chiyoda Line, the
Odakyu Odawara Line continues to
run on the tracks.
Yoyogi-Uehara is
a quiet, residential area of Tokyo.
It is connected to government offices
and business areas by the Chiyoda
Line of Yoyogi-Uehara Station. There
are some stylish shops and a few
good schools in the area.
Koga Masao Museum of Music
Koga Masao Museum of Music was originally
the home of Koga Masao (1904-1978)
a popular composer known for creating
melodies that mixed Western music
with traditional Japanese music.
Today it is a museum that displays
Koga Masao’s
musical instruments besides his
other personal belongings and memorabilia.
Besides giving an overview of Masao’s
life, the museum also displays materials
of songwriters, composers, and singers
who contributed to the development
of Masao’s form
of popular music. Visitors to the
museum can also listen to music
and sing in karaoke rooms. Various
music courses are also offered.
The Koga Masao Museum of Music is
well worth a visit by all music
lovers.
