Machida

  

Machida Station is a railway station serving the JR East Yokohama Line and the Odakyu Line. It is located in Machida in the western part of Tokyo.

  

Machida is a city located in the west of Tokyo. Machida Station is situated in the center of the city in a busy commercial area. There are several large and famous stores located around and near the station. Some of the well-known stores include Daiso , Lumine , 109 , Jorna , OIOI , Modi , Tokyu Twins , and Yodobashi Camera . Jorna, 109, Modi, and OIOI are large fashion stores specializing in women's clothes, shoes, and accessories. Lumine and Tokyu Twins are big department stores that include almost everything – clothes and accessories, shoes, cosmetics, CD/DVD stores, and small household articles. Daiso is Japan's largest and most popular 100-yen store offering nearly 90,000 of their own products, and Yodobashi Camera is a large-scale electronics store.

 

Not far from Machida Station is Serigaya Park.

 

Serigaya Park is a beautiful park with lots of greenery and water. There are many cherry trees as well, which makes it an ideal place for cherry blossom viewing in spring. In the middle of the park, there is a pond with an open area for playing in the water. There are also several sculptures scattered throughout the park, and a small art museum located in a corner.
