Japanese is a very unique language which I have found the best way to learn Japanese is to memorize phrases. I have purchased many books to learn Japanese only to find out the phrase I am looking for is not available but similar phrases are. Also many of the phrases are not what are normally used by the everyday normal Japanese person. For the beginner I have not been able to find a good book to learn Japanese. I therefore went out and located an everyday normal educated person to teach me Japanese. I separated out phrases by categories and thought about every possible phrase I could think of within that category in English and had the Japanese person teach me how to say the phrases in Japanese. These phrase pages are constantly being updated with new phrases so you can come back anytime to learn more or to refresh your memory if you forgot a phrase. After all, I have learned that the best way to first start learning a language is memorizing words and phrases and watching a lot of Japanese television.
